Remembering D-Day

When people think of the Second World War, one of the first things that comes to mind is D-Day, when a massive Allied force came ashore in occupied France on June 6, 1944. Canadian soldiers, sailors and airmen played an important role in this pivotal campaign. Veterans Affairs Canada has a rich collection of historical information and lesson plans about D-Day and the Battle of Normandy that can help young people learn more about this important subject.
