If you have lost income because of COVID-19, the Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB) will provide you with temporary income support. The Government of Canada will begin accepting applications for the Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB) as of April 6th, 2020. The CERB is worth $500/week for 16 weeks and will be paid out every for weeks. Prior to April 6th, if you are eligible for Employment Insurance (EI), you should apply for EI. After April 6th, all COVID-19 related EI cases will be processed through the CERB.
